Q. WHAT TYPE OF GUARDS DO YOU PROVIDE?


A. Our guards are Malaysian citizens (not even permanent residents are accepted) between the ages of 25 to 55. The majority of them are Malays or Indians with a sprinkling of Chinese and some East Malaysians. They have no criminal record and are expected to be basically literate. They are all physically fit and have a presentable appearance. They will be clean shaven (neatly trimmed moustaches are allowed) with close cropped hair. Uniforms will be neat and complete and black shoes will be worn. Night guards will be equipped with batons and torch lights.

 

We also have Guarkha guards from Nepal, aged between 25-40 years old that have served a minimum of 5 years in the British, Indian or Nepalese Army. These Gurkhas are hand selected by our directors from Nepal and are trained upon arrival. Gurkha are famed for their discipline, loyalty and brave.

 

 

Q. HOW MANY GUARDS DO I REQUIRE?


A. Security requirements can only be assessed after a thorough risk analysis survey has been conducted. The following factors will be considered:-


    a) Size of location.
    b) Number of buildings, sizes and uses.
    c) Perimeter gates/fencing – type, adequacy, full/incomplete.
    d) Lighting of perimeter, grounds and buildings/standby lights.
    e) Type of roof and access.
    f) Firefighting facilities.
    g) Number of employees, occupants, contractors and visitors working, living or visiting the premises.
    h) Number of vehicles entering the premises each day.
    i) Type of vehicles entering each day and numbers is requiring complete or partial checks.
    j) Number of persons entering each day who must be body searched/bag searched.
    k) Number of entrances and exits/windows and other areas with access into buildings.
    l) Type and value of items at premises.
    m) Where are valuable items placed (in secured or unsecured locations)
    n) Location of high value assets and high risk areas.
    o) Previous crime history in the premises.
    p) Location of nearest police station.
    q) Crime history in that area.

 

Upon completion of the security survey a report will be given identifying the areas requiring security attention and the number of guards required and equipment or security devices necessary.

 

 

Q. WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

 

A. Rates vary according to a number of criteria:-


    a) Location – distance from town centre, distance from populated areas (e.g. isolated areas) availability of bus services, distance to shops and amenities – whether in Klang Valley / Penang / Johor Bahru or other areas.
    b) Requirements of guards – clocking, record keeping, computer literate, walking long distances/climbing steep stairs, opening gates/barriers, standing for entire duration of shift, answering telephone calls etc.
    c) Nature of property/assets requiring protection – easily removable.  High traffic of vehicles entering and leaving each day, number of employees and visitors entering and leaving.
    d) Risk factor – high crime rate, unfenced locations, construction sites, unoccupied buildings, etc.
    e) Coverage – permanent/ temporary assignment, no. of guards on each shift, whether 24 hour coverage or partial coverage.

 

 

Q. WILL WE BE ABLE TO MAKE A CLAIM AGAINST YOUR INSURERS IF THERE IS A CLAIM?

 

A. We are insured against Professional Indemnity risks up to RM 100,000 for each and every claim. Our insurers will satisfy your claim subject to the following conditions:-


    a) There must be a valid service contract in existence between your company and ours
    b) You must notify us orally and in writing within 12 hours of the event.
    c) A police report must be lodged by either your representative or ours.
    d) You must allow us to conduct our own investigations to determine whether there was any negligence on the part of our guards.
    e) If there was negligence on the part of our guards you must let us have documentary proof of the value of the items lost.
    f) We will then submit your claim to our insurers for verification.
    g) Our insurers will pay only if our guards were negligent in carrying out their duties.

 

 

Q. WHAT DO WE DO IN CASE OF AN INCIDENT OR COMPLAINT OF SERVICE?

 

A. Immediately call our 24 hour emergency hotline. Our operator will record your details and will advise you on the next course of action. In the case of robbery/ theft or other incident, the relevant branch manager will be informed to respond immediately. In case of complaint about service, remedial action will be taken and our operator will call you back to confirm that the breakdown has been rectified.
